One of the biggest reasons why many people fail to meet their financial goals is that they set unrealistic goals, which only leads to disappointment. If you're working at a job that pays minimum wage, setting a goal of having $10,000 in savings in one year is foolish (unless you're living with your parents and have no expenses). If going on a vacation to a dream location is your goal, start doing some research on budget plans and set a goal on when you can go. Look over your income and expenses to determine how long it will take you to get the funds you need. This can be one of your major goals.
Many people set goals with employment. While getting an education, they set a goal of gaining employment at a much higher paying job when they finish their education. These are realistic goals that are attainable and will give you incentive to keep trying. The main areas of our life are employment, finances and relationships. We can set goals in all these areas but the important thing is to set realistic goals so we'll be able to be successful in our life and completely fulfilled. |
